Woman charged with animal cruelty out on bond

WINGO, KY (WAVE) - A Western Kentucky woman charged with animal cruelty is out on bond.

Officials searched a shelter run by Shannon Lacewell on Tuesday.

They found 96 dogs near death, but Lacewell said she got the dogs from puppy mills and was nursing them back to health.

Investigators said the search and seizure they conducted showed otherwise.
