EMINENCE, KY (WAVE) - A woman charged with hundreds of counts of animal cruelty wants to take her chances with a jury.
Terri Smith was arrested in December after police say they found more than 200 animals on Smith's property on Allyson Lane in Henry County.
If convicted, Smith would face up to one year for each of the 218 counts of animal cruelty.
Smith is fighting to get back some of the animals that were confiscated.
Smith's husband, Kenneth, was also charged, but he committed suicide shortly after he posted bond in December.
A woman who lived with the Smiths, Karen Nellums, also faces charges.
