Suspicious letters being sent to members of Congress

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A suspicious letter made its way into the Gene Snyder Federal Courthouse.

The letter contained a white powder and was contained in the mailroom.

The U.S. Marshals Service reported the Louisville Hazardous Material Team responded and tested the powder, which turned out to be corn starch.

Several members of congress have received suspicious packages containing white powder, including one sent to Indiana Senator Dan Coats.

The packages were sent to home district offices, not to the US Capitol.
