FRANKFORT, KY (WAVE) - Sen. Tom Jensen filed a new bill aimed at reducing meth labs. This comes after a heated debate over Senate Bill 50 from both sides. When it got to the floor the sponsor, Sen. Robert Stivers (R-Manchester) withdrew it in a surprise move.

Jensen (R-London) was the original sponsor, but withdrew himself after a possible conflict of interest was addressed.

The new bill, Senate Bill 172, also requires some over the counter cold medicines to be purchased as prescriptions. It would also limit the amount a person could buy per month.

It was introduced February 24.
