10-year-old girl dies of injuries suffered in Hardin County crash

SONORA, KY (WAVE) - A ten-year-old girl critically injured in an accident involving a dump truck died of her wounds Tuesday morning.

Ruby Salinas was a passenger in a pickup truck driven by her father Monday afternoon. Kentucky State Police say Gustavo Salinas, 41, of Louisville pulled into the path of a dump truck which had the right of way. The dump truck slammed into the rear passenger side of the passenger truck.

Gustavo Salinas and his wife, Margarita Salinas, 34, suffered minor injuries as did the dump truck driver.

A third vehicle was struck by debris, but that driver was not hurt.

The crash happened at 3:17 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Highway 84 and U.S. 31W in Hardin County.
