WAVE 3 Editorial – March 1, 2012: Feedback

By Ken Selvaggi

You weren't happy with our "Curbing Meth" editorial.

Andy emailed: "Making pseudoephedrine prescription only won't solve the meth problem. It will just drive it further underground. Pam agreed: "I can't see any way that the benefits outweigh the cost. You're going to punish 98% of the population because of 2%.  Alex added: "It's not unfair, it's foul. You would have to go to a doctor and pay either a co-pay or be billed for the doctor's visit and that's if you have insurance coverage. Who pays for this? We do, not the criminals."

You didn't agree much with our "55,000 degrees" editorial either.

Myron emailed: "Talk is cheap but a bachelor's degree costs $90,000." David echoed Myron: "The cost per semester at UofL is approximately $36,000 for a four year degree; financed at 6% for 10 years means repayment would be $48,000. This is hard to do if you don't have a job."

Alex said: "A BA is an expensive deal. If the idea is to make our economy grow then we must pressure the Universities to work with the area population so that there would be more of a chance of having more bachelor degrees in the area."

An our guest editorial advocating a halt to plans to reduce Brownsboro Road in the Clifton area from four driving lanes to two elicited this response from Robert: "There is a huge population of disabled and blind people in the area. The residents need this project!"

We appreciate and welcome all of your feedback.
