Rush says no to Rush

Rush wants Rush to stop.

The classic rock band Rush has asked Rush Limbaugh to stop playing their music on his radio talk show, according to blogger Bob Cesca.

Robert Farmer, an attorney for the band, sent a cease-and-desist letter to The Rush Limbaugh Show, on the grounds that using the band's music is copyright and trademark infringement.

On Monday, Peter Gabriel issued a statement on his Facebook page that he doesn't want Limbaugh playing his 1986 hit, Sledgehammer, anymore.

The song was played while Limbaugh railed against Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke, calling her a "slut" and "prostitute."

Gabriel's statement on his Facebook page reads:

"Peter was appalled to learn that his music was linked to Rush Limbaugh's extraordinary attack on Sandra Fluke. It is obvious from anyone that knows Peter's work that he would never approve such a use. He has asked his representatives to make sure his music is withdrawn and especially from these unfair aggressive and ignorant comments."
