One-stop-shop set up to help tornado victims

SELLERSBURG, IN (WAVE) - Victims from Friday's tornados are trying to put their lives back together. The state of Indiana and Ivy tech are trying to make it easier.

For people's whose lives have been turned upside down, the basics are just gone.  Now, a one stop shop is helping them.

Brenda Sheppard and her daughter borrowed a friend's car to be one of the first to stop at the Disaster Assist Center in Sellersburg.

"My van was destroyed windows busted out, dents this big, it was horrible," said Sheppard.

The center is located on the first floor of Ogle Hall at the Ivy Tech campus off of interstate 65.

Inside, there is assistance for people who need help with insurance, housing, food stamps, even vaccinations.

Outside there is even a trailer from the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles to help people replace lost drivers licenses.

They will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week for the up to the next 10 days.
