WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Saving money can be as simple as an email or liking a Facebook page.
Even though collecting coupons is probably the best way to save money, don't forget about the power of social media or contacting the manufacturer directly.
Sometimes when you contact the maker of a product, the company will send you a sample or give you some high-value coupons that are unavailable in a given newspaper.
For example, we got some baby formula simply by asking for it. Similac gave us a newborn feeding kit with two packs of infant formula. It was roughly a $40 value. On top of it, we got another $25 in coupons.
Also, if you're unhappy with a product, you should let the makers of the product know. Don't settle for a mistake. Send customer service an email and chances are, you'll get more than enough in return to make up for your loss.
