SEYMOUR, IN (WAVE) – A teenage girl struck by lightning outside a southern Indiana high school was upgraded from critical to good condition on Friday.
Emily Bobb, a freshman at Seymour High School, was struck directly by the bolt when lightning hit a softball field during practice at the school Thursday afternoon.
Bobb was taken to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.
Three other girls, Carley Westfall, Kelsey Nolting and Kristen George, suffered minor injuries and were treated and released from Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. All three are sophomores at the school.
