Attorney wants law limiting financial aid for student athletes overturned

FRANKFORT, KY (WAVE) – Shouldyoung student athletes be forced to quit sports because they received a fullacademic scholarship to a private school?

That is the debate in a lawsuit filed against the Kentucky High School AthleticAssociation.

Louisville attorney TedGordon is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn the rule that limits theamount of financial aid for athletes. The rule said if the students play sportsthey can only accept 25 percent of tuition costs.

Gordon cites one girl whowent to Presentation and quit track and field to keep her full academicscholarship.
