LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Henryville High School has a concert of a lifetime to look forward to as Lady Antebellum announces they were picked to win the group's prom contest.

Entries were submitted from across the country, but Henryville High's story stood out above the rest. Even students from other states submitted videos urging Lady Antebellum to choose the Hornets. Silver Creek High School rallied around Henryville and their video was selected as the winner.

The juniors and seniors got the news they've been waiting to hear, two and a half weeks after tornadoes ripped through town destroying their school.

"It's just so inspirational that such a small town got noticed by such a huge band and they are actually willing to come play for us because of our story and what we've been through," said Ty Griffin, Henryville junior.  "I think it is going to be great for everyone."

Thanks to their rivals to the south, Silver Creek High School caught the Grammy winners' eyes.

The Silver Creek mass media class created the video on Henryville's behalf urging Lady Antebellum to choose their prom to perform at.

"The ones who were involved are as excited as they would have been if Lady A were coming to their own prom and that for me, that had the most meaning," said Marybeth Coffman, Silver Creek mass media teacher.

Luke Gillenwater was part of the winning video. "I just knew that Henryville won and I just went crazy and then when I found out it was our video, I couldn't even talk, I was just so excited," said Gillenwater.

To those students who lost so much, there's now something to look forward to.

"We love you. Congratulations. See you soon Henryville," Lady Antebellum said in a video message.
