LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A man serving time for the brutal beating of a cancer patient was back in court on Monday. Michac Jones pleaded not guilty to a murder charge.
Jones attacked Carl Berry outside a Dollar General Store in 2010. Prosecutors say that attack killed Berry who died in December 2011.
A grand jury indicted Jones for Berry's murder in late March.
Jones pleaded guilty to the assault in August.
He will be back in court next week for a previously scheduled shock probation hearing. Now, Jones will also appear in court next week for a bond hearing and pretrial.
