LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Two people have been transported to the hospital after a vehicle ramped up an embankment causing it to overturn several times.

Louisville Fire and Rescue and LMPD responded to the scene on the Watterson eastbound at the on ramp to I-65N around 1 p.m. Saturday.

Fire officials told WAVE 3 the Hummer ramped up the embankment and then slide back down it causing the vehicle to flip.

Both passengers had to be cut out of the vehicle and were transported to University Hospital. Their injuries are unknown at this time.

Officials believe speed was a factor in the wreck causing the driver to lose control.

Traffic to the ramp is currently shut down and is expected to be for some time.
