FRANKFORT, KY (WAVE) – A staggeringstatistic showed motorcycle crashes in Kentucky have spiked 69 percent sincethis time in 2011 and Kentucky State Police are looking to curb that statistic.
KSP is organizing a media blitz. Theyare taking to the airwaves, twitter and Facebook with a message that stressesmotorcycle safety awareness.
Helmets are optional for bikers inKentucky so state police said motorcyclists need to use common sense when decidinghow much protection to wear. Police are also stressing bikers and other driversto look out for each other while sharing the road.
