Happy Friday!

The weekend is finally upon us! I hope you'll get yours started tonight at 5:00 with Dawne Gee and me, plus WAVE 3 Chief Meteorologist Kevin Harned's weekend forecast.

This morning, jurors were given the case of a Lyndon man accused of murdering his business partner and leaving her body inside a van. WAVE 3's Jaimie Weiss will explain where deliberations stand in the murder trial of Thomas Kessinger.

Police swarmed a Shepherdsville elementary school today for one of the most important training exercises of their careers, and it had to do with keeping children safe. WAVE 3's Scott Adkins takes you inside the school to show you how they train both physically and mentally for a worst-case scenario: a shooting on campus. Find out the information police are learning from this important exercise.

Plus a new smart phone app that promises to keep women safe from rapists and other predators as they walk down the street.  It's really amazing technology.

And  WAVE 3's Lori Lyle will help you Stretch Your Derby Dollar by showing you how to dress for Millionaire's Row on a budget.

We'll see you later today for WAVE 3 News at 5.
