Jury finds man guilty of murder; recommends sentence

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The Louisville man accused of murdering his business partner was found guilty by a jury of his peers on all three counts against him.

The jury found Thomas Kessinger guilty of murder, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse Friday afternoon. 

A couple hours later, that same jury recommended a sentence of 24 years for murder and 5 years for tampering with physical evidence to be served concurrently.

Kessinger, was charged with killing his business partner, 51-year-old Diane Tanselle, in April 2010 then wrapping her in a tarp and leaving her body in her van in a Lyndon apartment complex parking lot.

Formal sentencing is set for Friday, May 24 at 9:00 a.m.
