LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Three people have been arrested after a beating at a nightclub on Saturday, April 14.

Police tell WAVE 3 News that father and son James Duby and Damon Shanks, along with a woman, Christian Sparks, were arrested near the Green Light Lounge near 7th Street and Berry Blvd.

"They got a pipe and hit the man in the head," said LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell. The victim then fell to the ground.
"The man and the woman then jumped in a vehicle at that point and then ran over this individual, as well," Mitchell said.
Tire marks in the Green Light parking lot show where officers say the victim was trapped and then dragged about ten feet before the car stopped.
"The female then got out checked his pockets and removed whatever items that he had on him," Mitchell said.
The arrests came as a surprise to Duby's mom, who is also Sparks' grandmother.
"Police came here looking for him, but I didn't know what for, and the next thing I know, they're impounding my car for evidence," Darlene Prather said.
The incident has left her without much-needed transportation.
"He's a man with a big heart. I just think he drank too much," Prather said.
But now a trip to the Green Light has resulted in the three getting a red light when it comes to their freedom.
"I just believe there's more to the story," Prather said.
The three were facing charges including robbery and assault.
Police said the victim was rushed to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
