MORGAN COUNTY, KY (WAVE) – Kentucky State Police have charged two people in the slaying of a southern Kentucky woman.
Police said 41-year-old John W. Smith, of Thompkinsville, and 34-year-old Chasity Hagan, of Summer Shade, were charged Saturday with murder and burglary.
They were arrested in the death of 63-year-old Brenda Howard of Thompkinsville.
She was found in her home Friday by a family member. Police said she had been beaten and stabbed.
Smith and Hagen are being held in the Morgan County jail.
