HENRYVILLE, IN (WAVE) - They don't know them and they live thousands of miles away, but they still wanted to help the families recovering from the March 2 tornadoes.

Wednesday, a truck packed with thousands of dollars worth of food and water was handed out to families at Henryville Community Church.

The donations came from the New York based supermarket Fairway Market. After the tornado hit southern Indiana the chain gave shoppers in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut the opportunity to donate food or money.

The chain said they wanted to pay it forward for all the people across the county that came to the aid of New York after the September 11 terrorist attacks.
