LMPD Chief Steve Conrad will attend May's District 12 Dialogue

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Councilman Rick Blackwell has invited a very special guest to May's District 12 Dialogue. The new Chief of Louisville Metro Police, Steve Conrad, will talk with residents about his goals for the department and what he sees as priorities in public safety.

"Chief Conrad has accepted my invitation to come out and meet with the people of our district and I see it as a great opportunity to get to know him," says Blackwell. "We have a very good relationship with the men and women who patrol this area of Metro Louisville. Public Safety is a top priority for the Metro Council."

May's District 12 Dialogue will be held at the Southwest Government Center in the Main Court Room, 7219 Dixie Highway beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Joining Chief Conrad at the meeting will be representatives of LMPD, IPL and MSD, and Congressman John Yarmuth's office will have staff on hand as well.

    As fire crews head out to the Ohio River for their annual training, they say it’s important to be prepared for accidents both on and off the water, after finding a man and his cat dead inside the cabin of a boat in Jeffersonville.
