Woman charged in murder at homicide scene identified

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Louisville Metro Police have identified the woman she shot and killed another woman during an argument outside the scene of an earlier homicide in west Louisville.

Cheetara Goldsmith, 24, is charged with murder in the shooting death Makeba Lee, 24, at 32nd Street and Greenwood Avenue on May 17. Goldsmith, who also faces wanton endangerment charges related to the shooting, remains at University Hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds after she was wounded by an LMPD officer after the fatal shooting of Lee.

According to LMPD, Officer Vadim Dale fired the shots that wounded Goldsmith, a member of the department for 2 1/2 years, has been placed on administrative leave pending the completion of an investigation into the shooting.
