Vernon Sexton

Vernon served aboard the USS Sacramento as a machinist mate.
The USS Sacramento served as a weather ship during Sexton's deployment.  It didn't go far from the coast.  It would travel about 50 miles out and report the weather for other ships in the Pacific.  Vernon was stationed at Treasure Island, California
He was from Eastern Kentucky.
He met my husbands grandma in California and they married and came back to Ky. Eventually they settled in Louisville and raised their 5 kids.
Vernon owned and operated his own concrete business. He was born in 1925 and died in 1998.
