LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A new restaurant is celebrating its grand opening tonight in downtown Louisville.

Saint Charles Exchange is now open. The business located between 7th and Main Streets employs nearly 60 people.

The establishment is designed to look set in the pre-prohibition era.

The design is a tribute to the buildings roots as the old Bernheim Bourbon Storage facility which was almost demolished.

Saint Charles Exchange's managing partner Michael Welsh said, "It's got a fantastic history. We're connected to the St. Charles Building which is where we draw our name from. At one time it was a boarding house and Jesse James stayed there, so it's got a fantastic history."

The business is partially owned by local investors and seats up to 140 people. The business will be primarily open at night for the first couple of weeks.
