Woman shot by police in west end faces judge

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The woman charged with one of  a series of west end shootings faced a judge for the first time Friday.

The judge addressed Cheetara Goldsmith by saying, "Ms. Goldsmith, you are charged with murder and wanton endangerment in the 1st degree, bond is set at $500,000, a not guilty plea has been entered for you."

Police said Goldsmith killed Makeba Lee.

Officers responded to the intersection of 32nd and Greenwood investigating multiple shootings last Thursday.

While they were there police said Goldsmith shot Lee.

Goldsmith has been recovering at University of Louisville Hospital after she was shot by a police officer.

She will be back in court June 4.
