A childhood character on a serious mission

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A cute character fromchildhood could also help honor the fallen this weekend.

Lamb Chop and Mallory paida visit to the kids at the Home of the Innocents Saturday morning and while it'sa lot of fun for the children, the visit to Louisville actually has a seriouspurpose.

The puppet and hersidekick will auction off items at a charity event this weekend which willbenefit the BentStar Project.

The project works tolocate and bring home the remains of prisoners of war and troops missing inaction in World War II.

Daniel O'Brien with theBentStar Project explained what the project meant to him, "They defended it,they put their lives on the line and they paid that price  and for us to be able to try and cover theirremains, try and bring some final answers to the families other than they died,somewhere over there."  

Lamb Chop will be at TheMarcus Linsey located at 8th and Main Streets in downtown Louisvilleon Sunday evening.

The event starts at 7 p.m.and admission is free.
