School put on alert after tuberculosis scare

TERRE HAUTE, IN (WAVE) – A middle school was put on alert after a tuberculosis scare.

700 students and staff members at Woodrow Wilson Middle School were screened for the disease on Tuesday.

Officials haven't confirmed if the sick person was a student or an employee.

Tuberculosis is a bacterial infection that attacks the lungs and is passed though sneezing and coughing.
