LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - If you like to find great bargains at yard sales, you may want to log in on Facebook. Countless pages are being created for friends and friends of friends to post items for sale.
In an afternoon of shopping some of the few pages in Kentuckiana, I found a recliner for $25 and a Kenmore stove for $175 plus countless items for kids including onesies for .50 cents.
A lot of the pages are closed, meaning you'll need a personal invitation or can simply request to join the group.
One of the largest in the Park and Cave City area has over 3,000 members. In Scottsburg there's a yard sale group open to anyone. '4 Sale in Hardin County' was started just a few weeks ago when Brandy Semoneit decided to post some pictures of her own yard sale to try to lure buyers.
The yard sale was a great success and now friends are using the page to post their own items for sale.
Amber Nash has saved a bundle using pages like these. "Got a Coach purse on there for $30. I've gotten a Juicy Coutour purse for $30," said Nash.
Most pages prohibit posting your phone number and address for safety reasons. Even if it's allowed, it's a good idea not to post your personal information.
