Man charged with murdering city official

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, KY (WAVE) – An eastern Kentucky man is charged with murder in the death of a city official.

48-year-old Joseph Julian is charged with murder, driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license following the death of David Ballard.

The Montgomery County Sheriff said Julian hit 51-year-old Ballard with his pickup truck Thursday night and there may have been bad blood between the two.

Ballard owned a barber shop in the same building where Julian lived.
