LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Highly touted 6-7 forward Montrezl Harrell has committed to play basketball for the University of Louisville. Harrelz made an official visit over the weekend.
The former Virginia Tech signee averaged 26 points and 13 rebounds for Hargrave Military Academy last season.
Evan Daniels, the national scouting director for Scout.com, told WAVE 3 Sports, "This is huge for Louisville for two reasons, first he is a top 100 player that fits a need and will provide post depth right away. Secondly, the 2013 class isn't very good and there are not a lot of post players in it."
"Harrelz gives Louisville a player who will be around for 3 or 4 years and will immediately provide rebounding, toughness and from a run and jump standpoint, can help them right away," Daniels added.
The Cards other 2012 signee, Terry Rozier, needs to complete some academic work this summer to become eligible, and is the only other signee in the class. George Mason transfer Luke Hancock is expected to start, but is also recovering from shoulder surgery.
