CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

During an exclusive interview with FOX19, Miss Ohio Audrey Bolte said she is sticking by a controversial answer she gave during the interview portion of the Miss USA pageant.

When answering a question about how women are portrayed in movies, Bolte used Julia Roberts' character in Pretty Woman as an example of a positive role model. Roberts played a prostitute in that movie.

"I'm going to stick with my answer," she said. "I feel very confident in the way I answered it. I felt I had 30 seconds on live TV and I felt I answered it the best I could at that moment."

Bolte said the media likes to take what is said out of context.

"For the record, I do not feel that prostitutes are role models," she said. "That was not the question. Those words were not ever out of my mouth.

"I feel the movie I gave an example of shows inaccurate and accurate roles of women in movies, because at the end of the movie she turned out to be a wonderful, well-rounded woman," she added.

Bolte, of Batavia, finished as second runner up in the pageant. She said she feels her answer did not cost her the crown.

When asked about the news that Miss Pennsylvania has resigned from the Miss USA organization, saying the pageant is fixed, Bolte had nothing but positive things to say about her experience with Miss USA.

"I had a fabulous time with the organization," she said.
