If Louisville is to become a city of lifelong learning all of our young people need to have the opportunity to excel.
The Project One organization has spent the past 27 years assisting thousands of students in meaningful job placements, job shadowing, internships, after-school activities and other educational opportunities.
The end result is these youngsters acquire the necessary skills to become successful in their adult lives.
One out of three youth in Metro Louisville won't find a job this summer and for West Louisville, that number is one out of two.
More than 1,000 young people have come to Project One this year seeking work place skills training and summer jobs placement. WAVE 3 and Project One are teaming up Friday on a city wide Job-a-thon to try and help.
Last year, Project One placed 235 students from throughout the city in meaningful summer jobs. Doubling or tripling that number this year will help considerably in forging a more positive future for many.
We invite you to listen in, learn more, and try to help.
