4-year-old shooting victim released from hospital

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A four-year-old girl shot during an altercation between two men was released from Kosair Children's Hospital Tuesday morning.

Louisville Metro Police said Halima Bakar was shot in the arm after getting caught in the middle of the fight around 8:45 Monday night in the 1600 block of Moore Court in the Park Hill housing complex. Halima's family said two bullets went through her arm but avoiding hitting any bones. 

Halima's family immigrated from Somalia in 2004 and moved to Louisville in 2008.

Halima and family members including her father attended a news conference called by community activist Christopher 2X Tuesday morning. 

No one has been arrested in the case. Anyone with information should call LMPD anonymous tip line at 502-574-LMPD.
