Grandmother pleads guilty to voluntary manslaughter

NEW ALBANY, IN (WAVE) – A grandmother pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter.

According to the Floyd County prosecutor's office, Nettie Luckett took a plea deal.

Luckett was originally charged with murder in the shooting death of her son-in-law, 49-year-old Douglass Randolph.

Police said Randolph was shot at close range to the back of the head in August 2011.

Luckett is facing 30 years in prison.

She will be formally sentenced on July 12.
