LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A woman who was placed on home incarceration finds herself in even more trouble after she decided not to follow the terms of the program.

According to an arrest warrant, Teresa Phillips, 22, of Fairdale, was placed into the Home Incarceration Program on the night of May 2. Phillips was fitted with a monitoring anklet and was supposed to go straight to her home.

Metro Corrections officials say that 3 ½ hours after she left the HIP office, they had not received a signal from the monitor attached to Phillips. When officers when to her home to check, Phillips' mother told them she last saw her daughter getting on her boyfriend's motorcycle heading to Shepherdsville.

The monitoring anklet assigned to Phillips was found the next day by a business owner on National Turnpike.

Phillips, who was assigned to HIP for 365 days after being sentenced for theft by unlawful taking, was arrested on June 16. She is now facing an escape charge, also charges for tampering with and theft of the monitoring device equipment.
