Heat forces closures; Child found in pool; Morning commute heads up

Get out there and enjoy the outdoors while it's cool …

… and then make sure you're back inside in time to join Scott Reynolds and me for WAVE 3 News at 11!

The heat has already caused some people to take action.  Churchill Downs is canceling racing one day this week.   WAVE 3 Chief Meteorologist Kevin Harned is checking the latest numbers to give us a better idea of how hot it will be and for how long.

It was a tough night tonight for a Louisville family as their young child was pulled from a pool and rushed to the hospital.

Plus, we're in for a very interesting morning commute, especially if you're coming into Louisville from Southern Indiana.  Another lane closure on I-65 near the Kennedy Bridge is going to make things difficult.  WAVE 3's Connie Leonard is out there telling you what you need to know before you leave home.

And a swimmer with ties to right here in Kentucky is headed for the Olympics.  WAVE 3 Sports Director Kent Taylor is following the Olympic trials so you'll know who's representing the country in London.

We'll see you at 11!
