Good afternoon from the WAVE Newsroom!

It's warmer today but we know the real heat is still to come!  We're getting you ready to face the heat when you join us for WAVE 3 News at 5.

Tempers are heating up as people sit in construction traffic on I-65.  I saw a lot of people trying to avoid the traffic and stacking up at the light right here in front of the station.  WAVE 3's David Williams is out there checking out the unexpected traffic tie-ups as the construction continues.

The federal government is making changes to its standards for infant play yards, but they come after decades of recalls and more than a dozen infant deaths.   We'll tell you about the stricter new safety controls for your children.

And, with the extreme heat coming, it's not only people who need to prepare.  You'll also want to take some steps to make sure your car can handle the extra heat.

Join us today at 5!
