LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Prescription pills, prostitution and theft are among the illegal activities an organized crime ring was allegedly involved with in Louisville.

Prosecutors said the group called themselves the Red Bull Bandits. The majority of the ten people charged were in court Tuesday.

According to prosecutors, most of the crimes happened in and around the 40215 zip code.

The alleged ring leader, David "Jo Jo" Combs lives on Berry Boulevard. His so-called bandits, including Michael Allendorf, 29, are accused of committing burglaries and thefts for Combs in exchange for prescription pills and a place to stay.

Several women are also charged in the scheme for performing escort services to get pills to stay at Combs' residence.

The judge did not like the fact Allendorf's plea deal gives him time to spend with his family before he goes to prison, but he signed off on it because of all the work put in by prosecutors and because Allendorf will testify against others in the case.

The charges include engaging in organized crime, burglary and promoting prostitution.

Some of the defendants are still negotiating with prosecutors.
