LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A man is dead and a woman is being treated for a gunshot wound after a shooting Tuesday morning in the Parkland neighborhood of west Louisville.
Officers were called to a home in the 2700 block of Grand Avenue around 9:30 a.m.
WAVE 3's Jaimie Weiss has learned that neighbors heard a woman screaming and ran over to help. The neighbors said there was shattered glass around the woman and at first they were not sure what was wrong. The neighbors then saw that the woman had an apparent gunshot wound to the leg.
She also told them someone else inside the house had also been shot. That person, the male victim, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Around the time of the shooting, police were involved in a foot chase with a man that started at 28th Street and Greenwood Avenue, just over one block away from the shooting scene. LMPD detectives are talking to that man to find out what he was doing in the area and determine if he was involved in the shooting.
The woman shot was taken to University Hospital for treatment. She is expected to be ok.
