Lightning strikes cause multiple fires in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Lightning strikes caused fires in at least two locations in Metro Louisville Wednesday afternoon.

MetroSafe confirmed lightning caused a working house fire at 223 East Oak Street in Old Louisville and a working apartment fire at 3544 Brockton Lane near Taylorsville Road and Rosedale Boulevard.    

There were no immediate reports of injuries in either fire.

The stormy weather also brought small hail and much-needed rain to the area.
