LONDON, KY (WAVE) – The woman who allegedly traded her newborn baby for a pickup truck is being returned to Laurel County.

Thursday night, Laurel County Sheriff John Root reported that Heather Kaminsky, 30, was apprehended in Florida and is expected to be lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Kaminsky was said to have traded her 6-month-old son to Jeremy and Jaimee Brown in exchange for the couple's 1999 Dodge Dakota pickup. Kaminskey allegedly then sold the truck for $800 and meth.

The Browns were arrested and charged with felony human trafficking.

Deputies said Kaminskey was living in Florida and social services there had already taken two children from her. Kaminskey was said to have fled to Kentucky to have the child and avoid that child being taken by social services.

The sheriff's department said Kaminskey will also face a felony human trafficking charge along with pending methamphetamine-related charges when she arrives in Kentucky.
