Coroner: Couple dead 5 weeks before being found

SIMPSONVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The autopsy reports have been released for a Shelby County couple found dead in their Simpsonville apartment.

The couple was found dead on June 19, but the coroner's office said they died five weeks earlier. The couple went without electricity for more than a month.

The coroner said David McGee, 53, died of natural causes and his wife, Donna McGee, 42, died of an accidental prescription drug overdose.
