LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - University of Louisville extended the contract of women's basketball coach Jeff Walz by an additional two years, which will now keep him at the university through the 2018-19 season.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Courier-Journal reports (http://cjky.it/PaVxRV ) Walz had a rollover contract, which meant that his five-year contract automatically renewed each year. His new deal includes a retention bonus for staying four years and another bonus if he stays for the length of the contract.
Walz was hired in 2007 and in five seasons with Louisville he has reached a 119-56 record and taken the team to four NCAA tournaments.
Walz said he's not satisfied until he reaches the goal of winning a national championship.
