Family holds 16-day Olympic viewing party

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE)- The 2012 London Olympic games are in full swing. People all over the world and right here at home are watching the games. Brandon Feusner and his family are set for the next 16 days.

"We sit here and we enjoy the Olympics," Feusner said.

Feusner, his fiance Nikki Perryman and their 2 children are having their own Olympic viewing party.

"It's really enjoyable getting the whole family involved," He said.

They've got a lot of choices on the networks, digital and mobile platforms of NBC. With the remote in hand, ready to watch the events, Brandon fell in love with the Olympics while watching the 2006 Torino winter games.

"There's not a set favorite," He said. "We watch men's gymnastics last night. It's just so impressive, what those athletes can do."

There are 530 team USA members to be exact. Some of them are from our area and region.

"I just feel like it's just great that we have some people that are in that are from Louisville," Perryman said.

For this family, it's about more than just sports

"It's kind of a learning process for me and a learning process for my girls to be able to see all the different things that can go on," Perryman said. "And what they can do"

Though at least 1 of their little ones might be a tad to young to completely understand, their children are getting into it.

"Especially our 4 year old," She said. "She was watching cycling and she said 'I want to do that in the Olympics!'=

Maybe one day that might happen.

"I think it would be pretty darn amazing for them to be able to be into something like that," Perryman said.

For now, they'll just keep watching and and rooting for team USA.

"We have to give them 2 thumbs up for sure!" Perryman said with a smile.
