(RNN) – Photos of a healthier looking "Tanning Mom" emerged Friday in In Touch magazine.
Patricia Krentcil, 44, of Nutley, NJ, made news when she allegedly took her 6-year-old daughter into a tanning salon to use the tanning bed.
Outrage turned into stunned concern when photos and video emerged of Krentcil.
Her skin was extremely discolored, even worse than the orange hue we're used to from Jersey Shore and the Real Housewives.
In Touch challenged Krentcil to stop tanning for one month, and the results are amazing – she looks normal and healthy.
The magazine reports Krentcil said during the July 19 photo shoot that everyone was saying she looked much better after not tanning, but she's not too happy about it.
"I feel weird and pale," she said.
Krentcil still denies taking her daughter into the tanning bed, and pleaded not guilty to child endangerment charges.
She also said she's cut back on tanning – but won't forego it all together.
The media and pop culture firestorm resulted in the use of the term "tanorexia" and even a Connecticut-based company creating a "Tanorexic mom" action figure doll that sold for $30.
