Vet says starving dogs worst case he's ever seen

LAUREL COUNTY, KY (WAVE) - A veterinarian called a case of animal starvation the worst he has ever seen, with the animals still alive.

Sheriff's office deputies removed two dogs from a home on in Keavy after a picture of the starving animals showed up on facebook.

Officials said the dogs were "skin and bones."

A woman saw the photos online and called 911. The woman who reported the animals, Jamie Medlin, said, "It tears me up, it's sad that someone could treat an animal like this!"

Deputies charged Jennifer Karr with animal cruelty.

The two of the dogs have been renamed Hope and Freedom.

If you would like to help these dogs, you can mail a donation to Williamsburg Veterinary Clinic at 319 Tackett Creek Road in Williamsburg, Kentucky 40769.
