Medal hope falls for one athlete; local firefighter dies in motorcycle crash; more pleasant weather on the way

Can you believe it's almost over?!?!?!?!

Where have the past few weeks gone! The Olympic Closing Ceremony is tomorrow.  It's been such an exciting 2 weeks on WAVE 3 & NBC.  YAY U.S.A...we are in the lead of medal counts. I find it interesting when we get an inside glimpse of the families, friends, and the towns where our athletes come from.  Their stories are always so inspirational. Coming up tonight on WAVE 3 News at midnight, we'll introduce you to one Hoosier Olympic athlete who was making a run for gold and a trip on the track ended her dream...but, the support around her still made her a winner.

Tonight, an entire community is heartbroken over the loss of a Bedford firefighter who died in a motorcycle crash.  So many people knew Mark Rexroat from Bedford Volunteer Fire and Rescue. We talked to the current Chief, who told us Rexroat loved to ride his bike and that Rexroat touched many lives during his time of service. WAVE 3's David Williams will have that story tonight.

I hope you got to get out and enjoy this amazing weather we've had.  It felt like mid September around here. Meteorologist Andy Weingarten will have a look at the rest of your weekend forecast and sounds like more rain is on the way.

Hope you join us at midnight!
