LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The death of a man found in the Portland neighborhood Monday night is being called a suicide.

The man was found just after 6:30 p.m. in the 2400 block of West Main Street. Louisville Metro Police originally believed that he had been stabbed to death.
According to Jefferson County deputy coroner Jim Wesley, the man did suffer wounds that would be consistent with a stabbing. But Wesley went on to say the man's wounds were self-inflicted.
The name of the man was not released.
