LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A young boy is being treated for burns after he pulled a pan containing hot oil off a stove.

Emergency crews were called to a home in the 3300 block of Garland Avenue near the intersection with Louis Coleman Jr. Drive around 11:20 a.m.

According to a Louisville Metro Police officer at the scene, when the boy, age 1, grabbed the pan, the hot oil spilled on the right side of his face and body.

The child was taken to Kosair Children's Hospital for treatment of burns believed to be second degree.
