LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The Kennedy Bridge is set for more repairs. Kentucky Transportation Officials said more work is needed on the Interstate 65 bridge over the Ohio River connecting Louisville and Southern Indiana.
The repairs will include fixing a crack in a steel section and filling a pothole.
Matt Bullock, Chief District Engineer said the recent construction actually caused pothole, "The concrete developed after the work was done in an area that we have one of the joints. There was an area that had a lot of vibration and movement and we probably didn't get a good bond from the remaining concrete."
They will close two lanes of traffic for a weekend and fix both the pothole and the steel crack. There is no set date as of right now, but Bullock said it will likely be within 2-3 weeks.
WAVE 3 will keep you updated on the process and give alternate traffic routes.
